Analysis of final design
The first analysis drawing of the design looks at the division of public and private space and entrance areas. It was decided that it was easier to zone these two areas buy creating a separate access for visitors, this is done through a corridor that leads from what I’m calling the front of the house to the back. The private access to the house is at the bedroom. The upstairs open outdoor area is as identified as more private space.
The second diagram looks at open, closed and semi closed space this is shown through the colours. Green is close, orange is semi open and grey is open. Space type also closely links with public and private areas, the private areas are closed and public more open.
The next looks at breezes and views. As seen in the diagrams on the side of the plan, strategically placed openings and windows have been positioned to allow for natural ventilation whilst blocking views from passing pedestrians. High windows have also been used for the same reasons of privacy. As seen in image two high windows also further allow for natural ventilation. Placing two opposite each other allows heat trapped up at the ceiling to be cooled. The third diagram looks at the main view captured. The area of site the house is on has been raised and the yard area has been lowered. The site is slightly naturally raisin (even know we are supposed to assume it is flat) so this would not be too much of a drastic proposal.
