Brief explanation


 Newmarket House is located in a suburban residential area. The residence is originally a 1940’s Art Deco house that has been altered to incorporate a larger open plan living area which includes a kitchen, dining, living area and an outdoor room (N.J.Habraken. 2011). Each space is specific and has been designed informed by specific human occupations.  Newmarket House explores a range of interesting concepts related to the integration of indoor and outdoor space. Owen and Vokes look at blurring the barrier between indoor and outdoor spaces to form hybrid spaces, alongside this the New Market House develops the concept that interior space is generated by a larger landscape solution (AIA, 2010).
